Nail Clip

Long nails can cause discomfort and mobility issues, increasing the risk of injury or infection and negatively affecting your dog’s overall quality of life. Excessively long nails place additional pressure on the toe joints, which can cause pain and may contribute to the development of arthritis.

Overgrown nails can also alter your dog’s natural gait, forcing them to walk on the outer edges of their paw pads. Over time, this imbalance may lead to further strain on the knees and hips.

Mud, dirt, and debris can become trapped in the paws, leading to irritation or infection that may affect posture and gait. Overgrown nails can cause joint strain, while matted fur pulls on the skin, creating sores or open wounds. Cracked pads or deep fissures may develop, splitting the paw pad and causing painful injuries.

Regular paw care helps keep your pup’s paws healthy, moisturised, and comfortable.

Ear plucked

Ear plucking is a grooming practice typically performed on dogs with long, floppy ears or breeds that tend to grow excessive hair inside the ear canal. Common examples include Cocker Spaniels, Poodles, Shih Tzus, and Schnauzers. The main purpose of ear plucking is to improve air circulation within the ear canal and help reduce the buildup of moisture, wax, and debris, which may lower the risk of ear infections in some dogs.

However, it is important to note that ear plucking is not suitable for all dogs. Many dogs do not tolerate the process well, and it can be uncomfortable or painful, particularly for sensitive individuals. Plucking can cause micro-tears in the skin, which may lead to inflammation, irritation, or soreness and, in some cases, increase the risk of infection rather than prevent it.

Due to these potential risks, ear plucking is not a routine procedure and is only offered upon request, taking into consideration the dog’s comfort, ear health, and individual tolerance.

Cat Nail Clipping

Cats’ claws can become overgrown if not maintained, which may cause damage to furniture or accidental scratches to skin. It is recommended that a cat’s claws are trimmed every 2–3 weeks. Older cats may require more frequent trims than kittens.

Only the very tip of the claw is trimmed. This area contains no nerves or blood vessels, making it safe and comfortable when done correctly.
